White crystalline powder, soluble in cold water, ethanol, slightly soluble in ether. It is easy to deliquesce in air and converts to ammonium thiocyanate at 150℃. It has reducibility and can reduce free iodine to iodide ions. Thiourea is highly reactive and used to prepare various compounds; it can react with a variety of oxidants to form organic compounds, and can also form easily soluble addition compounds with inorganic compounds.

1. Chemical raw material: It is the main raw material for the production of thiourea dioxide;

2. Mineral processing field: It is mainly used as a gold leaching agent in mineral processing;

3. Pharmaceutical field: Used in the preparation of drugs such as sulfathiazole, methylthiouracil, tetrazole, nitroimidazole, and fluorouracil;

4. Agriculture-related: Used as pesticides (insecticidal, bactericidal, acaricidal, herbicidal, virus control, etc.), chemical fertilizers (nitrogen fertilizer synergists), and auxiliary in agricultural production;
