For a certain carbonate-type gold ore in Southeast Asia, leaching experiments were conducted using the environmentally friendly gold leaching agent. The results showed that under the conditions of a grinding fineness of 90% passing -0.074 mm, pulp density of 40%, lime dosage of 3 kg/t, alkaline pre-treatment time of 2 h, JB Chem dosage of 600 g/t, and leaching time of 24 h, the gold leaching rate reached 96.25%. The leaching rate was comparable to that achieved with the sodium cyanide leaching process, while the dosage of JB Chem was reduced by 200 g/t and the leaching time was shortened by more than 12 hours. The analysis of the  tailings leaching toxicity indicated that the cyanide content in the tailings was within the limits of national standards, thus eliminating the need for cyanide detoxification treatment.
